Three people turned out for today’s clean up at Hirai, but we lost one person (messages didn’t go through) because I had posted the wrong location. The location below is correct. It was a really dirty area so we were able to collect about 40-45 bags of trash (lots of PET bottles). The weather held out but it started raining about 4:00pm. As we were finishing up lightning began at 4:45pm so we just left trash bags on the river bank (red circles) and immediately went home. I never let rain stop a clean up (just put on rain gear), but lightning will stop it. I’m going to return tomorrow to set all the bags out by the riverside road as well as finish cleaning some areas we didn’t get to. If anyone would like to join me please message me to coordinate. Again, best to restrict participation to people who can come by bicycle or car. I’m hoping that we can finish off with a 60-70 bag outing for this location.
