Six volunteers turned out for today’s Arakawa River clean up at Funabori and collected 31 bags of trash. Our first day back on the 1:00pm start and it was HOT, actually humidity seemed to be a big part of the problem, so we spent the first hour on the backside of the Nakade island under the shade of the shade of the C2 highway. Then after a break we ventured out to the pods, and fortunately just about that time clouds moved in blocking the sun and the Tokyo Bay/river breeze made things bearable and event a bit cool. There is always a trash pile in this areas, and I think fishermen are picking trash from the river and throwing it there. Finally, we did a little work on the area next to the embankment, which is our main target, weather/tide permitting. There is still so much work to do there.
