Seven volunteers collected 22 bags of trash at the Arakawa River clean up event near Funabori last Saturday. About half the bags filled quickly with new inflow of trash at the dirty angle, and after that it was a lot of smaller pieces. This “dirty angle” is notorious for being the dirtiest spot on the Arakawa river with daily inflows of trash. It needs monthly and even weekly cleanings to prevent the new accumulation behind the pods from drifting further down where it becomes hard to get. Minasan otsukaresama!
