Twenty ecowarriors turned out for today’s Arakawa Clean Up event with about 126 total bags of trash collected. Basically there were two groups with 5 regular members from Arakawa Clean Aid forum active in the morning from the Funabori side of the Nakade and collecting 42 bags + some large items. Then, the main TRF group of 15 people started from the Nishi Kasai side in the afternoon collecting 78 bags of trash plus some large unbagged items. About 10 of today’s participants were students from a nursing college who showed up suddenly after finding us on the Internet. With all the people this was our first time over 100 bags since before the Covid-19 scare started in early March. As planned the massive overhead C-2 highway provided shade for the afternoon group for most of the event but I think the morning group may have been cleaning in the direct sunshine. Anyway, it was a great effort by a lot of people, which produced a great outcome today.
