It was another “power event” today on the Arakawa at Fuanbori with 14 volunteers collecting 125 bags of trash. We continued our cut into the 3rd section of pods, and it was a gomi paradise. I did not expect so many people to turn out on Christmas Day. For the past 35 years I’ve lived in Japan Christmas has mostly been an ordinary day. In any case, we passed the day among old and new friends with about half the participants falling into each category. We’ll be back at this same spot on Friday for our final event of the year and needing only 69 more bags to reach 3,000 for the year. We got this!
