Two volunteers collected 22 bags of trash at today’s Tamagawa River clean up event near Kojimashinden Station. There must have been about 10 hot spots, but it was too few people for too much gomi as well as not enough daylight. We got as much as we could. The cat colony seemed to be doing fine but today’s care taker told me the population was down to about 17 from 20 a year and half a go. The river management office, which has completely refused to assist with trash pick up, also came by and put “illegal” stickers on the cat shelters. A bit worried, I asked their caretaker about this, and he said they have been doing it for 10 years and they just ignore them. In one of the fnial photos you can see a plane taking off from Haneda. The clean up location is just across the river from the airport. Next up is the Arakawa clean up on Sunday at Nishi Kasai!
