It was big day on the Arakawa today at Yahiro. About 30 students who were scouting member at Lycée Français International de Tokyo (French International School) came out for today’s clean up along with 7 or 8 teachers and parents. Then 2 TRF members made it about 40 people today who collected 97 bags of trash (92 actual bags + about equivalent of about 5 bags of large unbagged items). The weather was great again. The students seemed to enjoy the clean up and they definitely enjoyed playing in the park all afternoon after lunch. I don’t have much chance to spend time around young kids. It was quite refreshing to see their youthful enthusiasm and hopefully got their minds on the pollution problem in our waterways. Going out to the river is always a good excuse for stopping by my favorite restaurant, Tikka House in Gyotoku, whichI did. Nizam makes a whole assortment of dry curries, which are thick and unlike the small bowl of gravy you get at most places. I added that photo at the end.
