Today’s Arakawa River Clean Up at YAHIRO was a big success with 17 people from 5 different countries collecting 137 bags of trash (107 actual bags + roughly equivalent to 30 bags of large items that were unbagged). There was rain all morning but we never cancel these things and weather mostly cleared up for us. it was a bit of a tough course with a lot of mud, but we had a great group of people who really cleaned up this area today. This was our 3rd of 4 cleanups at Yahiro this winter, and we’ve cleaned most of the waterfront between the Route 6 and Route 449 bridges or about a kilometer in total. There was a little bit more to do, but we will get that area with next month’s event.
