Twenty-one volunteers turned out for yesterday’s Arakawa river clean up at Nishi Kasasi. It was a “Power Event” (over 100 bags) with 118 bags of trash collected. We had cut the grass along the concrete embankment (where trash tends to accumulate) from the Tozai Line train bridge to the end of of island where it meets Tokyo Bay, and a lot of untouched gomi was uncovered for easy pickings. But it was still some rough terrain and a great effort by the group that resulted in a big outcome. As I did not attend, I am have patched together some photos from other participants.
