Thirteen ecowarriors turned out for today’s Tamagawa River Clea Up just across the river from Haneda Airport and collected 68 bags of trash (63 actual bags + roughly equivalent to 5 bags on the sodai gomi). In spite of a rain forecast, it was beautiful weather, only just a tad bit hot during the first two hours. As expected the grass was beginning to overgrow this area, so it was good to get in and get much of it cleaned. We’ll have to go back next winter to finish up when the grass dies. We cleaned behind a cat colony of about 12-15 cats (all well taken care by locals). The cats were quite skiddish but as we opened trails (smashing the grass down) behind their houses, they gradually came out to explore.
