The first River Clean Up event of 2021 was at Yahiro today. Thirteen ecowarriors turned out for the event with 2 in the morning and 11 in the afternoon. It was winter cold in the morning but the daytime sun heated things up to a comfortable working temperature. We were able to collect 92 bags of trash (77 actual bags + roughly equivalent of 15 bags on the large unbagged items). This was our second time at Yahiro this winter, but the area still needs more work. Hopefully we’ll hit it two more times before thick spring grass reeds takes back the river bank.
