Arakawa River Clean Up today next to the Komatsugawa bridge (Hirai Station). Five eco-warrirs collected 41 bags of trash (35 actual bags + roughly equivalent of 6 bags on the large unbagged items). This was the same area we did during Golden Week when only 2 people collected 70 bags of trash. But at that time we took all the easy trash (lots of bags of PET bottles which were easy to quickly fill up). Today was slimmer pickings and a lot of time spent on picking up smaller pieces of trash so the bags did not fill so quickly. We didn’t get everything but we got most of it. One of the participants today saw a large snake. We didn’t get a photo so not sure what kind of snake it was. Hopefully this will be our last event with major Corona restrictions (namely asking participants to not use public transportation or limit the event to people who can come by bicycle or car.)
