I spent this morning giving a presentation on Tokyo River Friends to IVIS, which is the volunteer interpreters’ association for Ichikawa City. They generally have an interpreter at the foreign assistance desk at the the city hall. In addition to recruiting several new members to join us on the Edogawa River Clean Ups, I was able to make several good connections into the local government here as well as some pledges to try to help resolve the current government inaction in assisting with the trash disposal from our Edogawa events. The traditional Japanese food afterwards at a luncheon was great and made for a very enjoyable day.
