Nineteen volunteers collected 74 bags of trash at yesterday’s Arakawa River clean up event. There were about 4 veteran members and as many people with several times participating but the majority of people were newcomers. The plan was to clean the middle of the first section of pods, which we clear cut last week, but with so many people, we were able to able to spread out and clean parts of the entire length, including the Dirty Angle at the front and another dirty angle on the backside as well as accomplish the initial objective of cleaning the center area. It was indeed a huge amount of trash that even with a large turnout, participants really worked hard to collect so much. Mina-san otsukaresama!
