Ten volunteers turned out for today’s Tamagawa River clean up event just across from Haenda Airoprt and collected 48 bags of trash. It was beautiful weather for January and a great effort made by a mix of regulars and newcomers. Also, a bit unusual turnout as it was an all-foreigner team today (4 Americans, 2 French, 1 Malaysian, 1 Indonesian, 1 Indian, 1 Briton). There was a huge volume of trash, but access was difficult due to the high grass, which we can’t cut. (The Tamagawa is a designated nature preserve area). Then at least 45 min. of the collection time was spent moving the bags up the embankment and about 300 meters to a public road for collection, so there was less time for bagging the trash.
