Five volunteers turned out for Sunday’s Arakawa River clean up event and collected 24 bags of trash. With the hotspots gone it was collection of lots of small pieces with a few larger pieces along the pods to take out once that grass had been cut. It was crazy weather. First it was a bright sun (no clouds and hot) and then a freak rain storm came and went pushing us out to shelter under the highway. Three members left early, so our 13th attempt at this spot wasn’t exactly a charm or maybe unlucky 13. Nevertheless, it was a great effort by everyone and an additional 24 bags of trash are gone from this area. With that we will take a two-week break on the Arakawa and be back at this spot on Aug. 26. The photos are a mix from my camera and from Kiyoko and Pradi.
